FOR PROFESSIONALS
At Rejuvenation Care services we work with a number of Government funded organisations who provide EACH, CACPs and NRCP programs.
At Rejuvenation we supply a variety of packaged respite breaks for Seniors & Younger Adults. This may be Seniors or Younger adults living alone or with a carer in their own home, or in an assisted living facility.
Each program is inclusive of the following:
Assessment visit to client's home
Meet the main carer and care recipient, determine needs; discuss locations, activities and general outline of the program, tailoring it as much as possible to each client's requirements.
(The Occasional outings program does not include an assessment visit, RCS liaise with case managers and or clients to discuss specific needs and requirements.)
Research
Staff visit and assess locations, activities and venues available in particular areas prior to trips being organised. This provides clients with real choices and ensures that the breaks are client focused.
Door to door transport
Clients are collected from and returned to their home address at the beginning and end of their 3 or 5 day break / day trip or overnight respite. The vehicles in use are a Toyota Tarrago, which comfortably seats eight and a Toyota Hiace commuter bus, which comfortably seats up to twelve people. We also accommodate walking frames and folding wheelchairs; clients must be able to transfer from the chair to the vehicle with minimal assistance.
Social activities
Planned in consultation with our clients: A newsletter is printed quarterly detailing the forthcoming 3/5 day breaks and specialized day trips. This is sent to each client and carer. Activities include outings to restaurants, theatres, ferry trips and visits to local attractions e.g. Art galleries, wineries, concerts, RSLs. We make every effort to access activities available to the general public, thereby enabling clients who may otherwise be socially isolated, to participate in normal community events.
A newsletter is also devised quarterly for our occasional day and evening outings, this is sent to case mangers and clients as requested.
Excellent Accommodation we use good quality homes and apartments, providing a high standard of cleanliness, comfortable furnishings; usually situated in close proximity to the town centre. The properties have cooking facilities, easy access to bedrooms, showers, toilets and entertainment areas.
Meals breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are provided during the 3 day respite break and lunch is provided on the specialised day trips; dietary requirements are accommodated.
Flights & Insurance - return flights and travel insurance is included in the cost of the interstate breaks.
Assistance provided throughout the break by professional care staff. In consultation with clients and carers, needs are identified and a care plan devised. This may include general supervision, toileting, showering, dressing and prompting/reminding to take medication.
Care Staff ratio to clients on the 3/5 day respite break, overnight respite and dementia specific day trips is dependent upon client need, but generally would be 1:3. Where a ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 is required, additional care staff is available, costs to be negotiated.
Care Staff ratio to clients on the occasional day and evening trips is again dependant on need but generally would be 1:5. (These trips are designed for low level care clients.)

Our overnight respite package is modelled on our 3 day breaks
A maximum of six guests are picked up commencing at 10.00am and returned home between 4.00 - 5.00pm the following afternoon.
The respite accommodation is a very homely property "House on the Hill" in Kilcunda, overlooking beautiful countryside and in the distance the Bass Strait can be seen.
House on the Hill is a hobby farm and guests can interact with the Llamas, the chooks and miniature horses, not to mention "Lofty" (the Shetland pony).
For those guests interested in flowers or veggies, there is a beautiful Rose garden and a large vegetable patch which everyone is encouraged to experience.
Also, there are gentle walks along scenic coastal tracks and fishing at the local trout farm, we encourage our guests to cook whatever they catch - it's great fun!
We encourage a very relaxed atmosphere, so guests who enjoy a lie in, do so. Breakfast is provided as each guest is ready and day two is generally passed doing activities in and around the respite home.
This service provides two days and an overnight break for the regular carer, we use a holiday model which hopefully encourages the client to attend willingly; and enables the carer to enjoy his or herself knowing their loved one is also having a holiday type break!
